Sports Day

399 children sitting in rows on the field, and 1 sitting in her wheelchair somewhere in the middle, frantically waving at Mum. One very happy, if very noticeable, child in amongst the rest, doing her best alongside all the others. But one small girl who was very upset all evening, ostensibly about the lack of ham in her spaghetti, but I'm not entirely convinced.

Happily, she's off on a special trip later this week somewhere which might just show her that wheelchair users can be pretty awesomely good at sport too.

She certainly looks happy on that picture.
Sports day always left Christina so tired that years were the only option. Actually thinking about it we had more tears than normal last week too.
Hope LF enjoys her special trip.

LF has such a lovely engaging smile - never fails to bring a smile to my face with her photos - what a lovely little girl. Sad is she feels upset at her differences from other children - it's a hard one to cope with. My son notices his differences too even though they are not immediately visible. It's hard to reassure them that they are perfect as they are and that the world is still theirs for the taking (even if it does need a kick up the bum to recognise their worth sometimes).
